Introduction
TM6604 is a haptic feedback driver specifically designed to address common challenges in driving Linear Resonant Actuator (LRA) haptic feedback components. It is also used to provide driving power for actuators commonly found in portable devices, delivering low latency, extremely high efficiency, and strong drive strength. LRA actuators typically have a narrow frequency band within which they produce adequate haptic feedback response. This frequency window is generally around ±2.5Hz, making it a challenge to drive an LRA actuator. TM6604 resolves this issue through automatic resonance tracking, which automatically detects and tracks the optimal commutation frequency. This means that any PWM frequency within the input range (10kHz to 250kHz) will automatically generate the correct resonant output frequency. As an added benefit, TM6604 is capable of executing an optimized braking algorithm to suppress LRA ringing, leaving the user with a clean haptic feedback sensation. TM6604's automatic input level shifting addresses low-voltage PWM source issues without requiring additional external components, so that when the digital I/O level changes, the output voltage remains unchanged. TM6604 also features power supply correction to ensure constant vibration intensity without power regulation, allowing connection to a high-efficiency DC battery.
