Introduction
The TLV704 low-dropout (LDO) linear regulator is a low quiescent current device offering the advantages of miniature packaging, wide input voltage range, and low-power operation. As such, the TLV704 is designed for battery-powered applications and can be used as a power management companion for low-power microcontrollers.
The TLV704 LDO supports a typical dropout voltage of 850mV at 100mA load current. The low quiescent current (typical 3.4μA) remains stable across the entire output load current range (0mA to 150mA). The TLV704 also features an internal soft-start function to reduce inrush current. Built-in overcurrent limiting protection helps protect the regulator during load short-circuit or fault conditions.
The TLV704 is available in a 2.90mm × 1.60mm SOT23-5 package, making it suitable for cost-effective board designs.
