Adding LEDs to anything makes it 5 times better — that's a scientific fact! But when you have LEDs, you've got wires and power supplies, and all of that is pretty annoying. What if you could have LEDs that light up without any wires, soldering, or battery packs? Sounds like magic! That's why this kit of 10 large wireless LEDs is so clever. When paired with the large inductive coil kit, they use electromagnetic fields and inductive coupling to transfer power through the air, lighting up LEDs soldered onto the coil. Each order includes ten blue large LED inductors. Compared to the smaller blue wireless LEDs, the large ones work at greater distances, especially when used with the large coil. This product includes only the 10-pack of large wireless LED inductors. The large inductive coil kit is sold separately. Inductive charging is a way to power devices without a direct wire connection. Most people have seen inductive charging in rechargeable electric toothbrushes: you may have noticed that they charge by being placed in a cradle, with no direct plug. These chargers work by taking a power transformer and splitting it in half — an AC waveform is generated into one coil and coupled to a second coil. In this product, one coil forms the "primary" of the power charger. Each individual LED then has a smaller coil on its back. When the two are coupled, power transfers from the coil to the LED, and it lights up. You can have a large number of LEDs, all floating in different 3D positions above or below the coil. You can also orient them in different directions, though you'll get the best efficiency and power transfer when the two coils are aligned. You can also position the LEDs slightly outside the main loop, but again, they won't be as bright as when they're centered directly over it.
