This is the 1-inch version of the SparkFun LuMini LED Ring, featuring 20 individually addressable LEDs, each capable of producing 16 million colors to meet virtually any color requirement! LuMini is a miniaturized version of the Lumenati LED series — instead of using 5mm x 5mm APA102 LEDs (APA102-5050), it adopts a 2mm x 2mm package (APA102-2020). This enables extremely high pixel density, resulting in a more continuous color ring for your use! The LuMini LED Ring is powered and controlled through several pads on the back of each board. These pads include 5V and GND, a set of data and clock input pads, and another set of data and clock output pads. Since the ring functions like a LED string, you will see multiple numbers on the back of the board corresponding to the LED numbers above. Another practical feature we've included on the LuMini LED Ring is four breakaway mounting points (two inside the ring and two outside), which can be used to secure the ring to a surface or project, or snapped off for more complex designs. Note: In large installations, you may need to add a decoupling capacitor between power and ground to prevent voltage drop when turning on a large number of LEDs simultaneously. We recommend using a 4.7μF capacitor, which we sell in packs of 10.
