Introduction
The TL431LI is a 3-terminal adjustable shunt regulator that meets specified thermal stability across applicable automotive-grade and commercial-grade temperature ranges. The output voltage can be set to any value between Vref (approximately 2.495V) and 36V using two external resistors. These devices feature a typical output impedance of 0.3Ω. The active output circuit provides a very sharp turn-on characteristic, making these devices an excellent replacement for Zener diodes in many applications, including on-board regulation, adjustable power supplies, and switching power supplies. This device is a pin-to-pin replacement for the industry-standard TL431, with optimized Iref and IIdev performance. Lower Iref and IIdev values help designers achieve higher system accuracy and lower leakage current. The TL432LI has identical functionality and electrical characteristics as the TL431LI, but features a different DBZ package pinout. The TL431LI is available in two grades, A and B, with initial tolerances of 1% and 0.5% at 25°C, respectively. Additionally, low output temperature drift ensures excellent stability across the entire temperature range. The TL43xLIxQ devices are rated for an operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C.
