Introduction
TPS65988 is a highly integrated and autonomous dual-port USB Type-C and Power Delivery (PD) controller that provides cable plug/unplug and orientation detection for a single USB Type-C connector. During cable detection, the TPS65988 communicates over the CC lines using the USB PD protocol. After cable detection and USB PD negotiation are complete, the TPS65988 enables the appropriate power path and configures alternate mode settings for an external multiplexer. The TPS65988 integrates a fully managed power path with robust protection features, delivering a complete USB-C PD solution.
