Introduction
The TPS2511-Q1 is a USB dedicated charging port (DCP) controller and current-limited power switch. An automatic detection feature monitors the USB data line voltage and automatically provides the correct electrical characteristics on the data lines to charge compatible devices in the following charging system configurations: Divider DCP, which requires a 2.7V voltage on D+ and a 2.0V voltage on D-, or a 2.0V voltage on D+ and a 2.7V voltage on D-; BC1.2 DCP, which requires shorting D+ to D-, with a voltage of 1.2V on both D+ and D-. The TPS2511-Q1 is an 80mΩ power distribution switch used in applications where high-capacitance loads and short circuits may occur. This device also provides an intermittent mode when the output (OUT) voltage is less than 3.80V (typical) or when overheat protection occurs under overload conditions. The precise and programmable current limit provides flexibility and convenience for applications. The TPS2511-Q1 provides a CS pin for USB cable resistance compensation and an enable (EN) pin to turn the device on and off.
