Introduction
The XR18910 is a unique sensor interface IC featuring an on-board 8:1 multiplexer, offset correction DAC, instrumentation amplifier, and voltage reference. Designed to integrate multiple bridge sensors with an MCU or FPGA. The integrated offset correction DAC enables digital calibration of the variable and often substantial offset voltages produced by bridge sensors. The DAC is controlled via an I²C-compatible 2-wire serial interface, which also provides convenient user control over many XR18910 functions such as input and gain selection. An LDO regulator supplies a stable voltage to power the input bridge sensors, selectable between 3V and 2.65V. LDO current can be sensed, with a proportional voltage available at the IC output for LDO current monitoring. The XR18910 offers 8 fixed gain settings ranging from 2V/V to 760V/V, each with only ±0.5% error, selectable via the I²C interface. It also features a maximum input offset voltage of 3mV, maximum input bias current of 100pA, and maximum input offset current of 100pA. The XR18910 is designed for 2.7V to 5V supply operation, works across the industrial temperature range of -40°C to 85°C, and comes in a space-saving 3.5mm x 3.5mm TQFN package. Supply current consumption is less than 559μA, with a sleep mode available for further power savings. The XR18910 is ideal for industrial and consumer applications employing bridge sensors.
