The HD3SS3412A is a high-speed passive switch capable of switching four differential channels, including applications such as routing two complete PCI Express x1 lanes from a single source to two separate destinations in computer or server applications. The HD3SS3412A, featuring bidirectional functionality, also supports connecting one target device to two source devices, such as two platforms sharing a single peripheral. The HD3SS3412A features a single control line (SEL pin) to control the signal path between Port A and Port B or Port C.

The HD3SS3412A comes in an industry-standard 42-pin WQFN package with dimensions common across multiple suppliers. The device requires a single 3.3V power supply and is designed to operate over the full temperature range of 0°C to 70°C.

The HD3SS3412A is a general-purpose 4-channel high-speed multiplexer/demultiplexer switch for high-speed signal routing between two different locations on a PCB. Although the HD3SS3412A is designed specifically for PCI Express Gen III applications, it also supports a wide variety of other high-speed data protocols with differential voltage <1800mVpp and common-mode voltage <2.0V, such as USB 3.0 and DisplayPort 1.2. The device's single select input (SEL) pin can be easily controlled via a GPIO pin provided by the system or a microcontroller.
