Introduction
The LMR23630 SIMPLE SWITCHER is an easy-to-use 36V, 3A synchronous step-down voltage regulator with a wide input voltage range of 4V to 36V, suitable for various industrial applications that require power regulation from unregulated sources. This device uses peak current mode control to achieve simple control loop compensation and cycle-by-cycle current limiting. It has a quiescent current of 75 μA, making it suitable for battery-powered systems. With an ultra-low shutdown current, the battery life can be further extended. Internal loop compensation means that users do not have to undertake the tedious task of designing loop compensation components. This also helps to minimize the number of external components. The device offers a constant frequency FPWM mode option to achieve low output voltage ripple under light load conditions. The extended product series (HSOIC) of this device provides options with load currents of 1A (LMR23610) and 2.5A (LMR23625) in a pin-to-pin compatible package, which can be used to achieve a simple and optimized PCB layout. The precision enable input simplifies regulator control and system power sequencing. Protection features include cycle-by-cycle current limiting, discontinuous mode short-circuit protection, and thermal shutdown due to excessive power dissipation.
