Introduction
The TPS61322 is a synchronous boost converter with only 6.5µA quiescent current. It provides power solutions for products powered by alkaline batteries, NiMH rechargeable batteries, or single-cell lithium-ion batteries. Built on a hysteretic control topology with synchronous rectification, the boost converter achieves maximum efficiency with minimal quiescent current. It also supports the use of small external inductors and capacitors. Efficiency exceeds 90% when converting from 1.5V input to 2.2V output at a 10mA load. High output current applications are also supported through an external Schottky diode. With an external Schottky diode in parallel with the internal rectifier FET, the TPS613222A can deliver output current capability greater than 500mA when converting from 3V input voltage to 5V output voltage. The output voltage can be internally set to a fixed output within the range of 1.8V to 5.5V in 0.1V increments. Therefore, only two external components are needed to achieve the desired output voltage. Thermal shutdown protection is also included. Available in a 2.9mm × 1.3mm 3-pin SOT package or a 2.9mm × 1.6mm 5-pin SOT package.
