The LMR10515 regulator is a monolithic, high-frequency, PWM step-down DC/DC converter available in a 5-pin SOT-23 and 6-pin WSON package. It provides all active functions to deliver local DC/DC conversion with fast transient response and accurate regulation in the smallest possible PCB area. The LMR10515 is easy to use with minimal external components. The device drives a 1.5A load through an internal 130mΩ PMOS switch, achieving optimal power density. Best-in-class control circuitry enables on-times as low as 30ns, supporting very high-frequency conversion across the entire 3V to 5.5V input operating range with a minimum output voltage of 0.6V. The LMR10515 is internally compensated for ease of use, requiring only a few external components. Switching frequency is internally set to 1.6MHz or 3MHz, allowing the use of very small SMT inductors and chip capacitors. Despite the high operating frequency, efficiency of up to 93% is readily achievable. Features include external shutdown and an ultra-low standby current of only 30nA. The LMR10515 employs current-mode control with internal compensation to deliver high-performance regulation over a wide range of operating conditions. Additional features include an internal soft-start circuit to reduce inrush current, cycle-by-cycle current limiting, thermal shutdown, and output overvoltage protection.
