The LM46001-Q1 regulator is an easy-to-use synchronous step-down DC/DC converter capable of driving load currents up to 1A with an input voltage range of 3.5V to 60V. The LM46001-Q1 delivers excellent efficiency, output accuracy, and dropout voltage in an extremely small solution size. An extended family of pin-to-pin compatible devices is available with 0.5A and 2A load current options. Peak current mode control is employed for simple control loop compensation and cycle-by-cycle current limiting. Optional features include programmable switching frequency, synchronization, power-good flag, precision enable, internal soft-start, extendable soft-start, and tracking, providing a flexible and easy-to-use platform for a wide range of applications. Discontinuous conduction mode and automatic frequency reduction at light loads improve light-load efficiency. The family requires minimal external components, and the pin layout enables a simple, optimized PCB layout. Protection features include thermal shutdown, VCC undervoltage lockout, cycle-by-cycle current limiting, and output short-circuit protection. The LM46001-Q1 is available in a 16-pin HTSSOP (PWP) package (6.6mm × 5.1mm × 1.2mm) with a 0.65mm lead pitch. The device is pin-to-pin compatible with the LM4360x and LM4600x families. The LM46001A-Q1 version is optimized for PFM operation mode and is recommended for new designs.
