Introduction
The LM26420 regulator is a monolithic high-efficiency dual PWM step-down DC/DC converter. Using BiCMOS technology with internal 75mΩ PMOS high-side switches and internal 50mΩ NMOS low-side switches, the device drives two 2A loads for optimal power density. The control circuit achieves on-times as low as 30ns, enabling excellent high-frequency conversion with a minimum output voltage as low as 0.8V across the full 3V to 5.5V input operating range. Despite the high operating frequency, efficiency of up to 93% is readily achievable. An external shutdown feature provides ultra-low standby current. The LM26420 delivers high-performance regulation across a wide range of operating conditions using current-mode control and internal compensation.
