Introduction
The AD8638/AD8639 are single/dual wide bandwidth, auto-zero amplifiers featuring rail-to-rail output swing and low noise. These amplifiers offer extremely low offset, drift, and bias current. They operate from a 5V to 16V single supply (or ±2.5V to ±8V dual supply).
The AD8638/AD8639 deliver performance advantages previously available only in expensive zero-drift or chopper-stabilized amplifiers. These auto-zero amplifiers employ a circuit topology that combines low cost with high precision and low noise, requiring no external capacitors. In addition, the AD8638/AD8639 significantly reduce the digital switching noise inherent in most chopper-stabilized amplifiers.
With a typical offset voltage of only 3μV, offset drift of 0.01μV/°C, and noise of 1.2μV peak-to-peak (0.1Hz to 10Hz), the AD8638/AD8639 are ideal for applications that cannot tolerate error sources. These devices exhibit near-zero drift over the operating temperature range, making them highly beneficial for position and pressure sensors, medical equipment, and strain gauge amplifier applications. Many systems can leverage the rail-to-rail output swing of the AD8638/AD8639 to maximize SNR.
The AD8638/AD8639 operate over an extended industrial temperature range of −40°C to +125°C. The single-channel AD8638 is available in two compact packages: 5-lead SOT-23 and 8-lead SOIC. The dual-channel AD8639 is available in three packages: 8-lead MSOP, 8-lead SOIC, and 8-lead LFCSP.
