Introduction
Minyuan Digital Temperature Chip MYDS18B20 series is a mixed-signal digital-analog temperature sensing IC. Within the -10°C to +85°C range, it achieves a maximum measurement accuracy of ±0.5°C with no user calibration required. The temperature sensing principle is based on the characteristic relationship between CMOS semiconductor PN junction temperature and bandgap voltage. The signal is processed through small-signal amplification, analog-to-digital conversion, and digital calibration compensation before being output via a digital bus, offering the advantages of high accuracy, excellent consistency, low power consumption, flexible programmable configuration, and long service life. The chip integrates a 14-bit ADC with a resolution of up to 0.0125°C; the factory default configuration is a 12-bit ADC, with an operating temperature range of -55°C to +125°C. Each chip undergoes 100% test calibration before shipment, with calibration coefficients fitted according to temperature error characteristics and compensation calculations performed automatically by the chip internally. To simplify system integration, ID search, temperature data memory access, and function configuration are all based on the digital 1-Wire protocol commands, requiring only a single GPIO port on the host microprocessor for read/write access. The 1-Wire communication interface enables multi-node sensing and low-cost networking over a shared single data bus, supporting long transmission distances and large node counts for distributed spatial sensing networks — up to 100 nodes in series with cable lengths of 100 to 500 meters. The chip integrates non-volatile E²PROM memory for storing the chip ID, high/low temperature alarm thresholds, temperature calibration correction values, and user-defined information (e.g., sensor node numbers and location data). Available in TO-92, TO-92S, SOP8, and MSOP8 packages.
