Introduction
The INA190-Q1 is an automotive, low-power, voltage-output current shunt monitor (also known as a current-sensing amplifier). This device is commonly used to monitor systems directly connected to automotive 12V batteries. The INA190-Q1 can sense the voltage drop across the shunt at a common-mode voltage ranging from –0.2V to +40V, independent of the supply voltage. Additionally, the input pins have an absolute maximum voltage of 42V. The low input bias current of this device allows the use of large current-sensing resistors, enabling precise microampere-level current measurements. The low offset voltage of the zero-drift architecture extends the dynamic range of current measurement. This feature supports the use of smaller sense resistors, which can provide precise current measurements while having lower power dissipation. The INA190-Q1 is powered by a single 1.7V to 5.5V supply. It consumes a maximum supply current of 65µA when enabled and only 0.1µA when disabled. Five fixed-gain options are available: 25V/V, 50V/V, 100V/V, 200V/V, or 500V/V. The device is rated for an operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C and is available in SC70 and SOT-23 packages.
