Introduction
The LMV116 (single-channel) rail-to-rail output voltage feedback amplifier achieves high-speed (45MHz) operation, low operating voltage (2.7V), and micro-power shutdown (LMV118). The output voltage range extends to within 20mV of either supply rail, enabling a wide dynamic range, making it especially suitable for low-voltage applications. Even at a low supply current of 600μA, the output current capability remains a substantial ±20mA, capable of driving heavy loads. Through a combination of process improvements and design architecture, key device parameters such as bandwidth, slew rate, and output current remain relatively independent of the operating supply voltage. For portable applications, the LMV118 offers a shutdown function while keeping shutdown current at 15μA. Turn-on and turn-off characteristics during transitions are well-behaved with minimal output glitches, allowing the device to be used in power-saving modes and multiplexing applications. In addition, the compact package (5-pin and 6-pin SOT-23) makes it even more convenient to use these low-power, high-speed devices in board space-constrained applications.
