Introduction
The OPA1688 36V, single-supply, low-noise SoundPlus™ audio op amp operates over a supply voltage range of 4.5V (±2.25V) to 36V (±18V). These latest additions to the high-voltage audio op amp family complement the OPA16xx devices, offering users a wide selection of bandwidth, noise, and power options to meet the requirements of diverse applications. The OPA1688 is available in a WSON miniature package with low offset voltage, drift, and quiescent current. The device also features high bandwidth, fast slew rate, and high output current drive capability.
Unlike most op amps that have only a single specified supply voltage, the OPA1688 family operates across a rated voltage range of 4.5V to 36V. Input signals that exceed the supply rails will not cause phase inversion. The inputs operate normally from 100mV below the negative supply rail to 2V above the top rail. Note that the device supports full rail-to-rail input operation up to 100mV above the positive supply rail; however, performance is degraded when operating within 2V of the positive supply rail.
The OPA1688 is rated for operation over a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
