Introduction
The OPAx625 series of operational amplifiers are excellent drivers for 16-bit and 18-bit SAR ADCs, offering many advantages such as high precision, low total harmonic distortion (THD), and low noise. They provide a unique power-scalable solution. This device series has a 16-bit settling time of 280 ns under rated operating conditions and can offer a true 16-bit effective number of bits (ENOB). The devices in this series feature high DC accuracy (with an offset voltage of only 100 μV), a wide gain-bandwidth product of 120 MHz, and low broadband noise of 2.5 nV/√Hz. They are optimized to drive high-throughput, high-resolution SAR ADCs, such as the ADS88xx series of SAR ADCs. The OPAx625 has two operating modes: high-drive mode and low-power mode. In the innovative low-power mode, the OPAx625 tracks the input signal, enabling it to switch from low-power mode to high-drive mode with 16-bit ENOB within 170 ns. The OPAx625 series is available in 6-pin small-outline transistor (SOT) packages and 10-pin very-thin small-outline packages (VSSOP), with a rated operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
