Introduction
TI MSP series ultra-low power microcontrollers come in a wide variety. Each member device is equipped with different peripheral sets to meet the needs of various applications. This architecture, combined with multiple low-power modes, is the optimal choice for extending the battery life of portable measurement applications. The device features a powerful 16-bit Reduced Instruction Set (RISC) CPU, using 16-bit registers and a constant generator for maximum coding efficiency. The DCO enables the device to wake up from low-power mode to active mode in less than 3µs (typical).
MSP430F673xA and MSP430F672xA microcontrollers have high-performance 24-bit Σ-Δ ADCs (3 ADCs in MSP430F673xA and 2 ADCs in MSP430F672xA), a 10-bit ADC, 4 eUSCIs (3 eUSCI_A modules and 1 eUSCI_B module), 4 16-bit timers, a hardware multiplier, a DMA module, an RTC module with alarm function, an LCD driver with integrated contrast control, and an auxiliary power supply system; The 100-pin device has up to 72 I/O pins, while the 80-pin device has up to 52 I/O pins.
