NTE Electronics NTE4597B

NTE4597B (16-pin DIP) and NTE4598B (18-pin DIP) are 8-bit latches — one (NTE4597B) addressed via an internal counter, the other (NTE4598B) via an external binary address. The 8 latch outputs are high-drive, three-state, and bus-compatible, with sufficient drive capability for direct use in MPU systems such as the NTE6800 series.

In the NTE4597B, a 3-bit address counter (triggered on the falling edge of the increment signal) selects the appropriate latch. In the NTE4598B, latches are accessed via address pins A0, A1, and A2. The NTE4597B provides a full flag to indicate the address counter position.

When the enable signal is low, all 8 latch outputs are available in parallel. When the strobe signal is high, data is loaded from the data pin into the selected latch. Both devices feature a master reset function.
