Introduction
The 74HC4052 is a 2-channel, 4-to-1 analog multiplexer/demultiplexer with a common enable input control. Each multiplexer contains four independent input/output terminals (Y0 to Y3), a common input/output terminal (Z), and selection inputs (A). The common enable input control includes two selection inputs A0 and A1, and an active-low enable input Ē. Each channel contains four bidirectional analog switches, with one side connected to the independent input/output terminals (Y0 to Y3) and the other side connected to the common input/output terminal (Z). When Ē is LOW, one of the four switches is selected (low-resistance ON state) by A0 and A1. When Ē is HIGH, all switches are in the high-impedance OFF state, regardless of A0 and A1. VDD and VSS are the supply voltages for the digital control inputs (A0, A1, and Ē). The (VDD − VSS) range is 3~9V, and the analog inputs/outputs (Y0~Y3 and Z) can swing between a maximum of VDD and a minimum of VEE. (VDD − VEE) must not exceed 9V. When used as a digital multiplexer, VEE and VSS are typically connected together (usually to ground).
