Introduction
The LM61460-Q1 is a high-performance DC/DC synchronous buck converter specifically designed for automotive applications. This device features integrated high-side and low-side MOSFETs, capable of delivering an output current of up to 6A within a wide input voltage range of 3.0V to 36V. It can withstand a voltage of 42V, simplifying the design of input inrush current protection. The LM61460-Q1 can perform soft recovery of the voltage drop, eliminating the need for output overshoot.
The LM61460-Q1 is specifically designed to reduce EMI. This device features pseudo-random spread spectrum, adjustable SW node rise time, and low EMI, and it uses a VQFN - HR package with low switching node ringing and an easy-to-use, optimized pin arrangement. The switching frequency can be set or synchronized within the range of 200kHz to 2.2MHz, avoiding noise-sensitive frequency bands. Additionally, the frequency can be selected to improve efficiency at low operating frequencies or to reduce the solution size at high operating frequencies.
The automatic mode enables frequency foldback during light-load operation, achieving a no-load current consumption of only 7µA (typical) and high light-load efficiency. The seamless transition between PWM and PFM modes, along with extremely low MOSFET on-resistance and an external bias input, ensure excellent efficiency across the entire load range.
The LM61460-Q1 is qualified to automotive AEC - Q100 grade 1 and is available in a 14 - pin VQFN - HR package with wettable flanks. Electrical characteristics are specified over a junction temperature range of -40°C to +150°C.
