Introduction
LM5122ZA is a synchronous boost controller with multiphase capability, designed for high-efficiency synchronous boost regulator operation. The control method is based on peak current mode control, which provides inherent line feedforward, cycle-by-cycle current limiting, and simplified loop compensation. Switching frequency is programmable up to 1MHz. Higher efficiency is achieved through two robust N-channel MOSFET gate drivers with adaptive dead-time control. A user-selectable diode emulation mode also supports discontinuous mode operation for improved efficiency under light-load conditions. An internal charge pump enables 100% duty cycle (bypass operation) for the high-side synchronous switch. A 180° phase-shifted clock output allows simple multiphase interleaved configurations. Additional features include thermal shutdown, frequency synchronization, hiccup mode current limiting, and adjustable input undervoltage lockout.
