Introduction
The THVD1419 and THVD1429 are half-duplex RS-485 transceivers with integrated surge protection. Surge protection is achieved by integrating transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diodes within the standard 8-pin SOIC(D) package. This feature significantly improves reliability against noise transients coupled onto data cables, eliminating the need for external protection components. Each device operates from a single 3.3V or 5V supply. The wide common-mode voltage range of devices in this family makes them well suited for long-cable applications. The THVD1419 and THVD1429 devices are available in industry-standard SOIC packages, enabling easy drop-in replacement without PCB modifications. These devices are rated for operation from −40°C to 125°C in still-air environments.
