Introduction
ACPL-M49T is a single-channel, high-temperature, high common-mode rejection, 20 kBaud digital optocoupler configurable as a low-power, low-leakage phototransistor, designed for automotive applications. The device is housed in a surface-mount SO-5 package. This digital optocoupler uses an insulating layer between the LED and integrated photodetector to provide electrical isolation between input and output. In the 5-pin configuration, separate connections for the photodiode bias and output transistor collector reduce base-collector capacitance, increasing speed up to 100 times that of conventional phototransistors. In the 4-pin configuration, a common connection shorting the supply pin and output pin enables low-power, low-leakage performance as a phototransistor. Across the extended temperature range, the ACPL-M49T provides a minimum enhanced common-mode transient immunity of 15 kV/μs at VCM = 1500V. This isolation product delivers the reinforced insulation and reliability required for critical applications.
