Introduction
The HFBR-1312TZ transmitter and HFBR-2316TZ receiver are designed to provide the most cost-effective 1300nm fiber optic link for a wide range of data communications applications, spanning from low-speed distance extenders to SONET OC-3 signaling rates. The pin-out is identical to the Avago HFBR0400Z series, enabling designers to easily upgrade their 820nm links for longer-distance transmission. Both the transmitter and receiver are compatible with two commonly used fiber sizes: 50/125μm and 62.5/125μm diameter, providing flexibility in fiber size selection. The 1300nm wavelength falls within the low-dispersion, low-attenuation region of optical fiber, offering greater transmission distance capability compared to 820nm LED technology. Typical transmission distance capability is 2km at 125MBd and 5km at 32MBd.
