Introduction
The TPS82130 is a 17V-input, 3A step-down converter MicroSiP™ power module optimized for both small solution size and high efficiency. This module integrates a synchronous step-down converter and an inductor, which simplifies the design, reduces the number of external components, and saves printed circuit board (PCB) area. The device comes in a compact, low-profile package suitable for automatic assembly using standard surface-mount equipment. To maximize efficiency, the converter operates in PWM mode at a nominal switching frequency of 2MHz and automatically enters power-saving operation mode at light load currents. In power-saving mode, the device has a typical quiescent operating current of 20μA. With DCS-Control™ topology, the device offers excellent load transient performance and precise output voltage regulation.
