Introduction
AD7790 is a low-power, complete analog front end for low-frequency measurement applications, featuring a low-noise 16-bit Σ-Δ ADC with one differential input configurable in buffered or unbuffered mode, plus a digital PGA with gain settings of 1, 2, 4, or 8.
The device operates from an internal clock, eliminating the need for an external clock source. The output data rate is software-programmable over a range of 9.5 Hz to 120 Hz, with an RMS noise of 1.1 μV at lower update rates. The internal clock frequency can be divided by a factor of 2, 4, or 8 to reduce power consumption. Update rate, cutoff frequency, and settling time scale proportionally with clock frequency.
The device operates from a 2.5 V to 5.25 V supply, with a maximum power consumption of 225 μW at 3 V, and is available in a 10-lead MSOP package.
