MS3142/MS3142S is a dual full-bridge motor driver. The supply voltage range is 4V to 18V, with an average current of 1.1A and a peak current of 1.54A. For higher current capability, the dual full-bridges can be connected in parallel. Four input pins (IN1 to IN4) control a DC motor in forward, reverse, brake, and coast modes. They can also control a stepper motor in full-step and half-step modes. MS3142 comes in an MSOP10PP package with a heat slug. MS3142S comes in an SSOP10 package. MS3142/MS3142S can be used to drive two DC motors or one stepper motor. The output H-bridge uses a PMOS+NMOS structure with low on-resistance. Internal protection circuits include thermal protection, overcurrent protection, and undervoltage protection. When all four inputs (IN1 to IN4) are simultaneously pulled low (<0.4V) for more than 1.5ms, MS3142 enters sleep mode. Sleep mode shuts down all internal blocks, achieving ultra-low power consumption.
