Introduction
The LM43602 regulator is an easy-to-use synchronous step-down DC/DC converter capable of driving load currents up to 2A, with an input voltage range of 3.5V to 36V (42V absolute maximum). The LM43602 delivers excellent efficiency, output accuracy, and dropout voltage in a very compact solution size. Its extended family offers 0.5A, 1A, and 3A load current options in pin-to-pin compatible packages. The device employs peak current mode control for simplified control loop compensation and cycle-by-cycle current limiting. Optional features include programmable switching frequency, synchronization, power-good flag, precision enable, internal soft-start, adjustable soft-start and tracking, providing a flexible and easy-to-use platform for a wide range of applications. Discontinuous and automatic frequency modulation modes at light load enhance light-load efficiency. This family requires minimal external components, and its pin arrangement ensures simple, optimized PCB layout. Protection features include thermal shutdown, VCC UVLO, cycle-by-cycle current limiting, and output short-circuit protection. The LM43602 is available in a 16-pin HTSSOP package (5.1mm × 6.6mm × 1.2mm) and a 16-pin VSON package with wettable flanks.
