Introduction
These devices are available in both through-hole and surface-mount packages for general-purpose AC switching. They can be used as switching elements in applications such as static relays, heating regulation, and induction motor starting circuits, as well as for phase control operations in light dimmers and motor speed controllers. The snubberless versions (BTA, BTB08_xxxxW, and T8 series) are especially recommended for inductive loads due to their high commutation performance. Logic level versions are designed to interface directly with low-power drivers such as microcontrollers. The BTA series provides an electrically isolated heatsink tab (rated at 2500 VRMS) that is UL-recognized (File No.: E81734) through the use of an internal ceramic pad.
