Introduction
The INA21x are voltage-output, shunt monitors (also known as current-sense amplifiers). These devices typically provide overcurrent protection and precision current measurement for system optimization, and are also commonly used in closed-loop feedback circuits. The series can sense the voltage drop across a shunt resistor over a common-mode voltage range of –0.3V to 26V, independent of the supply voltage. Six fixed gains are available: 50V/V, 75V/V, 100V/V, 200V/V, 500V/V, or 1000V/V. The series employs a zero-drift architecture with low offset, enabling current sensing with a maximum full-scale voltage drop across the shunt resistor of less than 10mV. The series operates from a single supply of 2.7V to 26V with a maximum quiescent current of 100μA. All device versions are rated for operation over an extended temperature range of –40°C to +125°C, available in SC70 and UQFN packages.
