The MediaGauge™ MG-9V Digital Pressure Gauge is a standalone, 9V battery-powered, multi-function digital pressure gauge. The MG-9V includes a media-isolated piezoresistive pressure sensing element, signal conditioning circuitry for temperature and calibration compensation, a 304L stainless steel pressure input port, and an LCD display with backlight. The MG-9V has an accuracy of ±0.25% of full scale. The MG-9V features a built-in battery-saving mode that automatically shuts off the LCD display after 5 minutes to extend battery life.

The MediaGauge™ MG-9V Digital Pressure Gauge comes standard with multiple push-button functions, including multi-unit pressure display readings (PSI, BAR, or MPA), storage of maximum peak pressure readings, and zero adjustment. The MG-9V model also offers an optional feet of water head pressure measurement display function.

The MediaGauge™ MG-9V Digital Pressure Gauge is constructed from fully laser-welded 304L and 316L stainless steel for optimal media isolation and compatibility with a wide range of media. These compact, 3-inch rugged pressure gauges measure pressures from 5 PSI to 5000 PSI, making them ideal for a variety of industrial and commercial applications such as refrigeration, compressors, pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, and wastewater treatment.

The MediaGauge™ MG-9V Digital Pressure Gauge offers advantages over mechanical gauges with higher accuracy, longer service life, and standard multi-function capabilities.

In general, pressure measurement technology converts the force generated by sensed pressure into an electrical quantity. In a digital pressure gauge, the electrical quantity is then converted into pressure units and displayed digitally.

SSI's MediaGauge™ MG-9V Digital Pressure Gauge includes a 304L stainless steel pressure input port, a piezoresistive pressure sensing element, signal conditioning circuitry for temperature and calibration compensation, and an LCD display showing measured pressure in PSI, BAR, or MPA (kg/cm²).

The piezoresistive sensing element consists of a micromachined 316L stainless steel corrugated diaphragm filled with oil and a silicon crystal sensor. The silicon crystal sensor is mounted on a 304L stainless steel housing and laser-welded to the diaphragm. Optimal media isolation is achieved when media pressure acts directly on the 316L stainless steel diaphragm and is then transmitted through the oil to the silicon sensor.

The strain gauges (resistive elements) in the silicon sensor are used in a Wheatstone bridge circuit. When media pressure is applied, the resistance of the strain gauges changes proportionally to the applied pressure. One leg of the bridge measures the input pressure port. The other leg of the bridge is connected to a reference port (vacuum pressure 0 PSI) for comparison with the input pressure port.

Since piezoresistive pressure sensors are typically sensitive to temperature variations, the MediaGauge™ MG-9V Digital Pressure Gauge uses signal conditioning to compensate for temperature and calibration. The output signal is then converted into one of three user-selectable formats (units selected via the ON/UNIT/OFF button):

1. PSI
2. BAR
3. MPA (kg/cm²)

After pressing the ON/UNIT/OFF button, the MediaGauge™ MG-9V Digital Pressure Gauge will display the pressure reading. Pressure measurement readings are updated 3 times per second.

The MediaGauge™ MG-9V panel features an LCD display and three multi-function buttons: ON/UNIT/OFF, Backlight/P-H (Peak Hold), and RESET/CLEAR.

The ON/UNIT/OFF button is used to display pressure readings, switch between pressure units (PSI, BAR, and MPA), and power off the device. Power on: Press the ON/UNIT/OFF button. The MediaGauge™ MG-9V features a battery-saving mode that will automatically shut off the display after 5 minutes. Display pressure readings in different pressure units: Press and hold the ON/UNIT/OFF button until the arrow on the LCD points to the desired pressure unit. Manual power off: Press and hold the ON/UNIT/OFF button for 3 seconds until OFF is displayed, then release the button.

The Backlight/P-H (Peak Hold) button is used to turn the LCD backlight on/off and to display the maximum peak pressure measured by the device. Turn on LCD backlight: Press the Backlight/P-H button once. Turn off LCD backlight: Press the button again. View the maximum peak pressure measured by the device: Press and hold the Backlight/P-H button.
