Introduction
MADRCC0002 is a dual-channel, break-free driver that generates logarithmic output current for linearization of PIN diode-based vector modulators. When used with external components as shown in Figure 1, the driver produces a linearized transfer function between the driver's input control voltage and the attenuation/phase output of the vector modulator. MADRCC0002 has been optimized for linearizing M/A-COM vector modulators, but is also compatible with most types of cathode-grounded vector modulators. The driver is housed in a 6×4 mm chip-scale package suitable for commercial SMT applications. Figure 1 shows a typical schematic of a dual-channel linearizer driving a vector modulator.
