Beschreibung
The TMS320F2838x (F2838x) is a device in the C2000 real-time microcontroller series. This series of scalable, ultra-low-latency devices is designed to improve the efficiency of power electronics, including but not limited to high power density, high switching frequency, and supports the use of GaN and SiC technologies. These applications include industrial motor drives, motor control, photovoltaic inverters, digital power supplies, electric vehicles and transportation, sensing and signal conditioning, and real-time control subsystems.
Based on TI's 32-bit C28x DSP core, it can provide 200MHz signal processing performance per core for floating-point or fixed-point code running from on-chip flash or SRAM. The trigonometric function accelerator (TMU) and VCRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check) extended instruction set further enhance the performance of the C28x CPU, thereby accelerating the speed of key common algorithms in real-time control systems. The extended instruction set is used to implement IEEE double-precision 64-bit floating-point mathematics. Finally, the control law accelerator (CLA) gives each core an additional 200MHz of independent processing power.
This device also includes an independent connection manager (CM), which is based on the ARM Cortex-M4 processor and runs at 125MHz. With its own dedicated flash and SRAM, the CM can completely independently control the interfaces to and from the F2838x, thus providing greater bandwidth for the C28x DSP to focus on real-time control.
The high-performance analog block is tightly integrated with the processing unit and control unit to provide excellent real-time signal chain performance. Thirty-two frequency-independent PWMs can control multiple power stages from three-phase inverters to advanced multi-level power topologies. By adding configurable logic blocks (CLBs), users can add custom logic and integrate FPGA-like functions into the C2000 real-time MCU.
For the first time in the C2000 real-time MCU, an EtherCAT slave controller is added, along with other industry-standard protocols (e.g., CAN-FD and USB 2.0). The fast serial interface (FSI) enables robust communication of up to 200Mbps across isolation boundaries.

The TMS320F2838x (F2838x) is a device in the C2000 real-time microcontroller series.
