OSRAM AS5134-SS_EK_AB

The AS5134 is a contactless magnetic rotary encoder for precise measurement of absolute angles over a full 360° rotation. It is a system-on-chip integrating Hall elements, an analog front end, and digital signal processing in a single device. Angle measurement requires only a simple two-pole magnet rotating above the center of the chip. Absolute angle measurement provides an instantaneous indication of the magnet's angular position with a resolution of 8.5 bits, corresponding to 360 positions per revolution. This digital data is available as a serial bit stream and a PWM signal. In addition to angle information, the magnetic field strength is also provided as a 6-bit code. Data transfer is configurable as 1-wire (PWM), 2-wire (DCLK, DIO), or 3-wire (DCLK, DIO, CS). A software-programmable (OTP) zero position simplifies assembly, as mechanical alignment of the magnet's zero position is not required. Power-down mode combined with fast startup and measurement cycles enables extremely low average power consumption.
